Cadet Fire Academy

Cadet Academy Program

Reestablished in 2020, the Boulder City Fire Department Firefighter Cadet Program was developed to provide the department with a qualified personnel pool able to supplement daily staffing deficiencies, as well as for individuals interested in a fire service career.  The 16-week (each Saturday) program is designed to instill a sense of character, confidence, and self-discipline in each Cadet while working to achieve Nevada State Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certifications.

Upon successful completion of the program cadets will become Boulder City Firefighter Reserves.  Under the guidance of the Shift Captain, reserve personnel are paid part-time personnel who respond to all emergencies, participate in training, community risk reduction activities, and maintaining the fire station and equipment.
